General Purpose instances does have a well balanced CPU and Memory ratio and a network capacity that works great for most use-cases. This machine series is optimal for most applications like web services or average utilized databases.

Economy Class
The Economy series consists of refurbished and tested hardware, usually previous generations.
The exact CPU Model and platform is known after the instance has been scheduled. You see the
effective type in the operating system after boot.
It suits for many use-cases where it is not crucial having the latest version of the hardware.
